Safety Taken Seriously

At the Shopfront Group the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers is something we take very seriously.

A robust culture of health and safety is recognised throughout the company as good for morale, good for business and good for everyone’s well being.

After all, who would want to work at a company where short cuts are taken and people’s safety and welfare are put at risk? Probably nobody if they had a choice. Everybody has the right to go home after work in no worse situation than when they left for work that day.

Similarly, would customers want to be associated with a company that had a disregard for their safety, the safety of their property and not a care about the people who worked there?

We don’t feel our customers would be on board with that sort of attitude, and neither are we.

QUALIFIED INSTALLERS CARRYING OUT CURTAIN WALL GLAZING WITH A HOEFLON C6 COMPACT CRANE AND MRT4 VACUUM LIFTER

The Shopfront Group take training and qualifications seriously. Our workforce take pride in their achievements, standard of work and overall safety culture.

All fitters hold (or are working towards) NVQ’s in glass and fenestration installation. This allows them to obtain the appropriate CSCS cards, the recognised safety training card for working on construction sites.

Our in house fabricators are experienced in their trade and have completed NVQ’s in glass and glass related operations.

The contract managers have also completed their NVQ’s in Fenestration Surveying. This means they are trained specifically in carrying out surveys within the fenestration sector (doors, window, glazing, glass lobbies etc), and again this allows them to obtain the appropriate CSCS cards for site admittance and surveys.

Where working at height is involved, the operatives carrying out the task hold appropriate work at height training cards such as IPAF and PASMA. And for working in high risk situations such as fuel station forecourts the appropriate staff also hold the SPA Safety Passport.

This of course is backed up by our in house Health and Safety department with various NEBOSH qualifications, the NCRQ Diploma in health and safety, and membership of IOSH, (the Institution of Safety and Health). We also subscribe to external consultants who operate the Safety First Package, and this allows us to produce site specific RAMS for each installation and specific COSHH assessments where required.

Our Health and Safety department also carry out in-house PAT testing of tools and equipment, plus RPE half mask face fit testing, and this is a service we are pleased to offer other installers and trades people.
